PERRY PARK EAST Slash Pick-Up
It is time for our neighborhood dead slash and limb removal and wildfire mitigation. This year PPE is using MR Hauling with a special deal for a one-day curbside slash and limb pickup. The date is set for the WEEK of July 15th, and the rules and restrictions are as follows.
PPE residents wishing to participate must sign-up ideally via https://forms.gle/cuoT2LhWF3VSCeJV7 or e-mail [email protected] by July 10th so we can get you on the list and estimate the time required.
Once on the list, MR Hauling will pick up slash street by street during that week and slash must be placed in your pile by July 15th. Since the size of piles determines how many trips will be required, there is no telling if it will be completed on day one, or if it will take several days. Slash piles created on or after July 15th will NOT be picked up.
In an effort to clean up our neighborhood and promote wildfire mitigation while also being mindful the higher cost for the service, here are the estimated costs to homeowners depending on pile size:
Guidelines for cutting, collecting, and piling slash:
For those homeowners using Tree Care Contractors, please make sure they follow the guidelines above.

- For piles that take no more than ¼ of MR Hauling’s container after compaction:
- No Charge for homeowners that have paid HOA $100 annual dues
- $125 fee for homeowners who have not paid the HOA annual dues prior to July 1st
- For piles more than ¼ of MR Hauling’s container after compaction:
- Additional $75 charge for each additional ¼ of the container after compaction.
Guidelines for cutting, collecting, and piling slash:
- Unlike chipping, it is now NECESSARY to pile high. DO NOT "run-it-out" in a long string of separate bundles.
- DO NOT pile under power lines. These piles will NOT be picked up.
- Place in an accessible area along the roadway, safe from traffic when picked up.
- Include ONLY slash in the piles – no household goods or other trash will be picked up.
- Roots are now OK to be included in the piles, as well as stumps – but be aware that stumps are not as compactable as the regular slash.
- For large logs please stack these in a separate pile for others looking for firewood to take, or to be picked up at a later date if no one takes them.
For those homeowners using Tree Care Contractors, please make sure they follow the guidelines above.
